Urodynamic tests are conducted to evaluate how well the bladder, sphincters and urethra hold and release urine. In addition, it could also determine if the bladder undergoes any involuntary contraction that cause leakage. Data from this diagnostic test informs the Urologist in the next steps for the most suitable treatments.

UTI’s (urinary tract infection’s) are an infection in any part of your urinary systems which can range from kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Infections that reach the bladder are painful and annoying. However, serious consequences can occur if a UTI spreads to your kidneys. Note that women are at a higher risk of a UTI than men. An active infection is usually treated with antibiotics but there are a number of preventative actions that can be taken to avoid future infections. Benign prostate enlargement (BPE) is where the prostate, a small gland found near a man’s bladder, is bigger than usual. It’s not usually serious. It causes uncomfortable urinary symptoms such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder. Also these symptoms are more common as men get older, usually over 50. It is not cancerous.
